Japan´s Chiba governor promotes farm & fishery products in first visit to Singapore

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 (Bernama) -- Governor of Japan’s Chiba Prefecture, Kensaku Morita will make his first visit to Singapore on Nov 15 to 18 for a top-level sales pitch for Chiba's attractive farm and fishery products and cuisine.
A business discussion tied with sampling of Chiba's farm and fishery products will be held on Nov 16 at Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay. The meeting is expected to lead to full-scale business negotiations involving representatives of companies from Chiba and Singapore.
Chiba Prefecture -- one of Japan's leading farm and fishery producers -- will promote its products by serving dishes made with Chiba ingredients including fresh sweet potatoes and alfonsino, according to a statement from Chiba Prefectural Government.
An event to promote Chiba foods will also be held on Nov 17 at Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay. The local media will experience the attractiveness of Chiba's foods by sampling original dishes prepared by Singapore chef, Petrina Loh with ingredients from Chiba.
During the visit, Chiba Prefecture also plan to sell farm and fishery products from Chiba at Isetan Singapore/Jurong East store and selling foods using farm and fishery products from Chiba at Kanda Wadatsumi restaurant.
Kensaku was an actor who starred in numerous youth movies and TV dramas like “Orewa Otokoda!” (I'm a man!). He was elected to the House of Councillors for the first time in 1992 and held government posts including parliamentary vice-minister of education.
