KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 16 (Bernama) -- China’s Hytera Communications Corporation Ltd has signed an agreement with Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) and BT Signal LLP (BT Signal) to set up a competence centre to co-develop broadband railway communication systems towards 5G and beyond.

Hytera said in a statement the competence centre’s purpose is to accelerate the formation of future-proof railway communication systems for KTZ, Kazakhstan's national railway company.

It added that the centre would provide a platform for railway communication specialists from Hytera, KTZ, and BT Signal to exchange technical expertise and experience, approve roadmaps for project implementation, develop necessary regulatory and technical documentation, and implement new modular programmes.

“The competence centre will act as a key driver to accelerate the digitalisation of KTZ, and we are proud to be a part of it,” Hytera Kazakhstan country manager Ivan Wang commented on the partnership.

Hytera said the agreement was signed during the online seminar Future Railway Telecommunication in the Asia-Pacific Region online seminar that was co-organised by the International Union of Railways and KTZ.

Hytera is a leading global provider of professional communications technologies and solutions based in Shenzhen, China.
